The Book Thief (A.K.B)

If I remember correctly, I believe I literally cried at the end of reading  The Book Thief. But I read it as an adult, and I already knew that this was a sensitive topic. This book calls for serious discussions on the prejudices of that time and even now and the feelings of Holocaust victims and families of  the victims. This text would be perfect to combine a social studies and ELA curriculum as it tackles both the history of The Holocaust as well as character traits and plot.
